Transitioning ahead of Time

It is now 12 years since my father Prof.Y Satyamurthi (1931-1997) passed away. I started my freelance career in 1994. My very first assignment was a 1 day programme at Maxworth Orchards ( Which ia also no more...) I did it with him by my side as a co-faculty.
Before I started off my own, we zeroed in on the name Transitions . He helped draft this note describing my one woman outfit which I had named as TRANSITIONS. I remebered this because a local management School has asked me to design an module (I will make it interactive since that is the way I like it) to help transition their students into their working life. There will be hopefully some inputs which will help them experience , if only briefly , what it feels like to be a part of the work force. I want to share this which seems to hold good. So here it is:

Transitions from
Loyalty to Competency
Cost Centres to Profit Centres
Selling to Marketing
Intuition to Information
are driving individuals and organisations to self - development and subordinate development as an integral part of the managerial process. TRANSITIONS undertakes `IN- COMPANY` programmes on a `ZERO BASE CONCEPT` beginning with identifying training needs and skills inventory.

Transitions from
Pyramid Structures to Flatter Structures
Centralisation to Decentralisation
Single Business to Multiple Businesses
are seen even in traditional organisations. TRANSITIONS is available as consultants to carry out Organisation Restructuring , Business Clinics , Performance and Potential Appraisals, designing `COMPENSATION PACKAGES`, developing HRD Systems and Personnel Information Systems.

Transitions from

one POSITION to another
one FUNCTION to another
one LOCATION to another
one ORGANISATION to another
are more transparent and frequent in today’s changing world order with the focus on globalisation, competition and customer orientation. Today’s high fliers are the hoppers and quitters who have the `ACQUIRED SKILLS` ready to be procured by organisations short of `GIVEN SKILLS` . It amounts to pinching Paul to pay Peter, very often at Paul’s request. . This is an ongoing process and TRANSITIONS plays the role of a catalyst to organisations in bringing ROLE < > INDIVIDUAL alliance.

Please let me know if you think this is still relevant.

Ciao
